Redbrick Academy supports children, young people and families across three settings, each with its own community, character and local identity. We’re proud of the work we do day to day — but right now, almost none of it is visible online.
We want to change that. This is a rare opportunity to build a brand’s social presence from the ground up and become the storyteller for an organisation that genuinely changes young people’s lives. If you want a role where your work shapes how a whole community sees us — and where you’ll see the impact of what you create — this is it.
–
The Role
We’re looking for a creative, self-driven Social Media Content Creator to take full ownership of our online presence from end to end. You’ll plan it, film it, edit it, post it, grow it and report on it. This is a part-time, hybrid role based at our Longsight and Oldham settings, with visits to Old Trafford to capture content.
This isn’t a role where someone hands you a brief and you press publish. You’ll be the engine: spotting trends (and starting your own), capturing authentic moments across all three of our settings, and turning them into content that makes people stop scrolling and pay attention.
You’ll deliver fresh, high-quality content for each of our three settings every week, while respecting that each community is different — what lands in one setting won’t always land in another, and you’ll have the instinct to know the difference.
–
What You’ll Create
Our content tells the Redbrick story from every angle. You’ll build content around four core perspectives:
– Staff — “Day in the Life” features that show the people and personality behind Redbrick
– Children & Young People — trend-led videos and vlogs that are fun, authentic and age-appropriate
– Tutors — advice, tips and coaching content that positions Redbrick as an expert voice
– Parents — real experiences, reviews and testimonials that build trust with families
–
Key Responsibilities
Own our social media end to end — strategy, ideation, filming, editing, copywriting, scheduling, posting and reporting
Produce a consistent stream of high-quality content for all three settings, every week
Stay ahead of platform trends and formats — and create original trends of your own
Travel between our three sites to capture content on location
Write engaging, on-brand captions and copy tailored to each platform and audience
Edit video and photo content to a high standard (short-form video especially)
Grow our following, reach and engagement, and actively build presence within our local communities
Manage community engagement — responding to comments, messages and tags promptly and in our voice
Track performance, report on what’s working, and continuously refine the approach
Manage media consent and ensure all content involving children is captured and shared appropriately (full training and support provided)
–
About You
Essential:
– A strong portfolio or examples of social content you’ve created (please include links or samples with your application) Confident shooting and editing short-form video on mobile and/or professional tools
– Deep, current knowledge of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube — what works, what’s coming next
– Genuinely creative and proactive — you generate ideas, you don’t wait for them
– Excellent organisation and the ability to juggle content across three settings independently
– Comfortable being hands-on, working with children, staff and parents to capture authentic moments
– Reliable transport to travel between our settings
Desirable:
– Experience creating content in education, youth, charity or community settings
– Understanding of analytics and social media growth strategy
– Experience building a brand presence from scratch
–
Safeguarding
Redbrick Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check and safeguarding training, and to follow our policies on consent, image use and the appropriate handling of content involving minors at all times. This commitment is a core, non-negotiable part of the role.
–
